The self study is a constant in my practice, it represents the universal woman. Here I capture myself in departure from the viewer to what is known or in arrival to the mystery to what is unknown. Encaustic the resin from the tree and the wax from the bee are magical to me. They are layered with the cracked black of the finite and speak to life's perfect dichotomy. The repetitive prose or mantra in this piece is “Life is Mystery love & A peace of the Soul”, one is a statement of truth, the other is a desire.
